Me: “I’ll have a coke.”
Server: “What kind?”
Me: “Dr. Pepper.”
Coca-Cola ranked #6 on the Forbes “World’s Most Valuable Brands” list, and it’s no secret why.
For over 100 years, Coca-Cola has been the world’s leading beverage company. So much so, their unique brand elements have themselves been branded (think polar bears, red and white, bottle shape, etc.). Even though Coke updates and changes its advertising to be relevant, one thing stays the same… their messaging. Whether it is the 1971 “Hilltop” ad or the current, millennial-aimed “Share a Coke” campaign, their ads and campaigns are always committed to who they are – past and present. Coke also has a unique way of honoring the past while consistently refreshing their message to appeal to different audiences.
Although Coca-Cola has dropped down a couple of slots from previous years, it’s important to note that the top 5 are all tech industry giants – so it’s still an amazing feat for a beverage company to be among the digital gurus.
